1st/2nd Line Desktop Support: 4-week Contract
(City of London)

To be considered for this role you must be available immediately and able to attend an interview at short notice.

Contract start date: February 2019
Contract Duration: 4 weeks (possible extension)
Daily rate: £175 per day
Working hours: 09.00 to 17.00 with a half hour lunch break.
Location: East London

My Client, a leading pharmaceuticals company based in the City of London are looking for 1st/2nd Line Desktop Support to work for them on a short-term contract basis starting on February 1st, 2019.

Main function(s) of job:

Note: In addition to these functions' employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required

To provide 1st and 2nd line deskside and phone support for MTPE staff. Under the supervision of the helpdesk manager.

Essential Skills Required:

- Windows, Office, Lotus Notes.
- Experience with Xerox copiers and Dell hardware is an advantage.
- You will be customer facing so will need to be well presented and able to communicate effectively.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an IT Support role
- Microsoft Windows O/S (W7, W10)
- File & Print services
- Network Shares
- MS Office products
- Experience supporting laptops
- Experience supporting remote access users

Main duties / responsibilities (in order of priority):

- 1st and 2nd line IT support and operation of the IT Helpdesk system
- General deskside and remote Support Outlook, Remote Access, Windows file and print, and Office 365, including limited user training when required.
- Escalation to 3rd line support including external 3rd parties
- Desk/Office Moves
- Update System Inventory
- General administration and maintenance of the ICT department
- Any other general ICT duties within MTPE day to day functionality and operation.

- Desktop/Laptop/Virtual computers and servers
- Microsoft operating systems (Windows XP, 7, 10, Server 20xx)
- Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Skype for Business, PowerPoint, 365 Suite)
- Security products (McAfee, Symantec, Bitlocker)
- Remote access tools
- Spiceworks IT Helpdesk
- VMWare

Qualifications / education required:

- Min. 2 A* Level, or equivalent

Specialist training required:

- Any Microsoft credentials are preferable, but not essential.

Any aptitude / skill required:

- Ability to work on own initiative, individually, or as a member of a team.
- High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting IT related issues.
- High aptitude in IT related skills
- Strong communication skills
