Description

Templeton are looking for a system administrator (level 3), with a minimum of 3 years of relevant studies (Bachelor) and 8 years' experience after secondary school. The consultants have to be fluent in English. French is an asset. The duration is 1000 days.

CONTEXT/PROJECT

Manage a large portfolio of IT projects and systems in multiple domains, from specific policy management to financial, budgetary, administrative and reporting tools.

Several of these policies are supported by Information Systems, which are developed, tested and maintained under the supervision of the unit "SRD.2 - Information management and systems".

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

Administration and operational management of DG-specific infrastructures, systems, software and hosted applications.

  • 2nd level support, including Information Systems support, Application PKI/Certificates support and Networking support.
  • Installation and configuration of system components and server software related to DG's Information Systems.
  • Operating and monitoring of infrastructure, systems, Servers of DG's Information Systems.
  • Perform configuration management tasks & procedures.
  • Incident/problem handling: analysis and resolution, problem definition, analysis and resolution: preliminary diagnosis of software and hardware problems, co-ordination with the central IT departments, Service Desks, Technical Experts and Developers.
  • Advise in areas such as capacity management, contingency planning, IT service continuity management, automation of repetitive tasks, security.
  • Coordinate with hosting services.
  • Coordinate with database management teams.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

In-depth knowledge (minimum 2 years for level 0 up to 12 years for level 5) of experience in the following domains:

  • Expert knowledge of the Windows and Unix or Linux operating system in the versions used in the Commission.
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication.
  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
  • Able to cope with the fast changing technologies.
  • Able to cope with the needs of multi-language deployments

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

ITIL compliant Incident and service desk management tools.

Good understanding of:

  • PKI and certificates.
  • Network architecture, components and protocols.
  • RESTful and SOAP WebServices and architecture.
  • Cloud environment configuration and management.
