NextLink is having an existing position as an SDMS Consultant for global projects in Belgium for our core client within pharmaceutical industry

General information:

We are looking for an SDMS Consultant with developer skills that will be involved in the implementation and roll-out of different projects concerning the SDMS (Scientific Data Management System) solution in our Client Vaccines. You will work in collaboration with the Product Manager and key users throughout the software development life cycle. In this role, you should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills. You also have experience in Agile frameworks, UX (Design thinking) and popular coding languages (e.g. html, CSS 3, JavaScript, Java, C++,…) . You will work closely with our business stakeholders, in order to analyse the business requirements and optimize/simplify the business processes.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:

You must be able to participate at and coordinate multiple project(s), including following activities:
Analysis
* Analysing business requests/needs and translate/challenge them into the optimal technical solution
* Fit the business request/needs as much as possible within the standard capabilities of the current software package
* Writing project documentation (requirements, test protocols,…)
* Investigate/participate a major upgrade of a system by discovering a new architecture and see if the system capabilities fit within our current and future needs.
* Identify recurring issues to propose an action plan to close the recurrence of the issue. This can be done through a system correction or enhancement, writing of additional documentation, additional knowledge transfer to our business counterparts, …
Testing / Bugfixing / Maintenance
* Unit testing the proposed solution or new functionalities
* Defining, monitoring system performance metrics and propose design optimization options based upon observed data

Required technical knowledge:

* Proven experience as a Software Developer
* Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
* Experience with software design (UX and Design Thinking)
* Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. NodeJs, QT, …)
* Ability to learn new languages and technologies
* Need to have advanced SQL (Oracle and Microsoft SQL) knowledge
* Need to have advanced Tech infrastructure and network knowledge
* Having worked on an ETL/data migration project is a plus
* Knowledge of Labware (or alternative LIMS) is a plus
* Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
* Write and Perform Unit Testing
* Knowledge of Data Analytics systems is a plus (Hadoop, Spotfire,…)

Project coordination skills:

* Being able to work on multiple tasks/projects in parallel, with limited supervision
* Follow-up open tickets and help coordinating the follow-up with our business counterparts or within Tech (local and global)
* Structured working method/disciplined (based on Prince2, PMI PMBOK, Agile,…)
* Knowledge of pharma processes/regulation/documentation is a strong plus

General skills:

* Fluency in English and French (written and oral)
* Result-oriented
* Team player / outstanding communicator / stakeholder manager
* Pro-active and future thinking and acting.
