Job objective
The Java developer will be part of a Test Automation team that supports multiple DevOps teams in realising their (test) automation needs. The Test Automation team works closely together to ensure scaleability and resilience of the Test Automation Framework upholding coding standards. This team operates in a cross-departmental and international environment. The JAVA developer works closely together with the other DevOps teams to assist them in formulating and refining Feature files as well as providing progress information and a demo to the teams and their Product Owner once Product Backlog Items are finished. 

Scope of the Role
Within the team the Java developer is responsible to maintain and extend a Test Automation Framework programmed in JAVA using Cucumber, Docker, Jenkins, Maven and Selenium. While the initial focus of test automation is directed towards UI tests we progressively move to the usage of Oracle Database (JBDC) and web services (JMS, MQ, SOAP and REST). 

You develop and maintain knowledge of the JAVA developer profession and business domain, are an ambassador for your practice and you strive to keep developing yourself. You continuously work to be familiar with, and to increase knowledge of different ways of working. A thriving Java community within Our cleint can assist you in doing this. 

Department and project context
The objective of the department IT Systems of Our cleint is to develop and maintain the best IT applications and solutions for our customers and internal partners. Within IT Systems the domain Wholesale & International is responsible for projects, development, maintenance and support of all applications in the area of corporate banking: international cash management, corporate lending, trade finance, Customer Relationship Management and Client Data Management including compliance. 

Focusing on digitisation and innovation efforts is a key component of WRR's strategy, which aims to position Our cleint to become a digital, connected, and data-driven bank – and the Wholesale Core Banking Transformation (CBT) is a major step on this journey! 

In order to remain competitive in the marketplace, CBT will enable Our cleint to better serve its clients through an improved customer experience underpinned by proactive data insights and consistent global services. Ultimately, CBT will enable Our cleint to provide client-centric, compliant, globally consistent, and operationally excellent front-to-back services through globally standardised processes. In order to achieve these objectives, Our cleint will establish a new global operating model supported by the implementation of a new core banking system.
