Assignment context and description of activities

As an engineer in the Agile team 'Preventive Security' you deliver security solutions that contribute to a safer IT infrastructure of the bank. In an Agile way-of-working, the Product Owner comes to the team with his wishes. In accordance with its priorities, the team is working to provide solutions for this. You can decide how that solution looks like as a team.

You have large knowledge and experience in implementing and configuring endpoint protection in large organizations, such as Advanced Threat Protection, EDR and Endpoint Protection, preferably with Symantec products. Having knowledge and experience with for example SIEM systems, Security Use Cases and network security is an advantage. We expect you to come up with proposals how solutions can best be implemented.

In your background, it is clear that you are comfortable in technical environments and that you understand how a SOC works. You have your own specialism and you want to extend your knowledge in a no-nonsense environment.

Relevant knowledge, skills, competences & desired education level

Specific Skills:

  • At least 5 years of work experience in the full breadth of information technology;
  • Knowledge and experience with the design and/or implementation of Symantec products, Network Security, Data Loss Prevention, ATP, EDR including platform architecture (HW, Virtual Machines, OS Windows/Linux, DNS, Load-Balancers, Firewalls etc.);
  • Experience as a system integrator for Enterprise graded implementations (>5000 employees) - Able to cope with scalability, interoperability and performance questions and to provide solutions.
  • Knowledge of malware analysis (reverse engineering) and how to setup such an environment with eg sandboxes;
  • Knowledge and experience of setting up and using CI/CD tooling, such as XL Release, Chef, SaltStack, Puppet and Ansible.

Other skills:

  • Good communications skills, ability to reach an agreement on requirements and solutions in communications with stakeholders at different levels of the organization;
  • Relevant security certifications or proof of having the competences;
  • Experience in working in Agile Teams/DevOps team;
  • Experience in working in a security environment preferable in the financial sector;
  • Getting-things-done approach;
  • Team player;
  • Problem solving attitude and ability to work under pressure;
  • Actively share knowledge with other team members;
  • Follow trends and developments inside and outside the bank and integrate them with company-wide solutions.
