We are currently recruiting for a Senior Network Security Engineer for an initial 6-12 months contract assignment based in The Hague, Netherlands.

Information about the company:

The IT environment of the Client, includes two Data Centres in The Hague (about 1000sqm, 400kW each), two smaller facilities (250sqm, 150kW each) in Munich. These Datacentres and 20 Network Concentration Points host the majority of Clients IM equipment.

The Office wide network consists of 15.000 fixed connection points, with around 6.000 connections at the Clients Munich premises divided over 2 large buildings and around 5000 connections at the Clients The Hague premises divided over 5 buildings. Additionally, wireless connections cover dedicated areas such as, but not limited, to Conference, Training and Public areas.

Role Details

Senior Network Security Engineer

The Senior Network Security Engineer will have a passion for managing corporate Network and Security along with a desire to persistently champion best practices. This role is responsible for performing all functions required to support day-to-day Data and Network Security operations, supporting and maintaining a broad suite of information security infrastructure, accountable for security and networking infrastructure.

Major Roles and Responsibilities

Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

Analysing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance.

Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.

Manage security responsibilities, including Firewalls, Proxy systems, and other security devices.

Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.

Create and review reports on event anomalies and develop and maintain security policies.

Troubleshooting and diagnosing network problems, and determining the most appropriate means of resolving problems and issues to improve network performance.

Provide security expertise to the company and investigate and respond to security violations.

Establish the network environment by installing, configuring, testing and documenting the equipment/network systems according to the design and specifications.

Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.

Lead the network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software and integration testing, as well as coordinating these activities without disturbing function of other systems.

Provide technical support, responds to work orders and tickets from the users, analyzes and solves reported network problems.
