Head of Finance - Public Sector - £50-60ph Inside IR35 - London - Initial 2 Months
Our leading Public Sector client is looking for a Head of Directorate Finance act as an organisation wide expert leading on the development and implementation of organisation wide financial improvements and efficiencies.
Duties:
- Responsible for the provision of a professional financial service across the organisation. Ensuring that the team demonstrate and practice the skills necessary when leading and guiding Senior managers
- To coach and mentor senior members of the team in their development, including the identification and support of financial leaders of tomorrow.
- Responsible for ensuring that all Senior managers with financial responsibilities are always guided and supported, when carrying out their financial responsibilities.
- Responsible for the provision of financial leadership in new financial initiatives, including areas where there is no precedence have been set
- To lead on the development of financial skills/qualifications for non finance staff.
- To provide financial leadership to a designated range of Directorates including Commercial and Essentia to support the delivery of an approved financial plan and ensuring proper financial control is maintained and value for money achieved
- To lead on the provision of financial advice and support to the Directorates with regards to service development proposals.
- To make judgements on financial decisions where there may be no precedent and interpret external professional and government bodies as required.
- Responsible for ensuring that all reporting is produced in line with the financial timetable.
- To lead a team of financial professional in the provision of financial support to a designated range of Directorates to support the delivery of an approved financial plan.
