Head of Commercial Finance - Property - LONDON - £500-£600 - 6 months
The work location is in LONDON and is a 6 months contract.
Pay rate is between £500 - £600 per day.
The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Business partner the Group Property Director, the Director of Property Asset Management and the rest of the property leadership team, to ensure all key decisions/strategies maximise commercial value creation.
- Build strong relationships with the Clothing & Home and Food Finance Directors and their teams to ensure the impact of these strategies are clearly understood and reflected in their financial planning.
- Offer financial expertise and challenge to the financial evaluation and forecasting of all property related developments including store opening, closures and downsizes.
- Provide finance leadership on programme to modernise the store estate and evaluate plans to maximise the value of the Group's property assets through redevelopment of store locations.
- Work with Group Investor relations to ensure the Group's property initiatives and their impact are clearly articulated to the investor community, supported by robust analysis.
- Work with the Head of Finance - Property Control, to ensure that the financial consequences of the property strategy are fully evaluated and accurately reflected in the Group's financial reporting, annual and long-range financial plans.
- Lead, develop and motivate a growing team to support delivery of all agreed objectives in a way that is aligned to corporate values.
Key skills and experience
- Commercial focussed qualified accountant with at least 8 years PQE
- Excellent analytical skills, including extensive investment evaluation experience
- Ability to influence non-finance colleagues at senior levels, including ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders including business unit FDs and Group CFO
- Commercial awareness, with prior operational property and/or property development experience an advantage
- Collaborative approach, with natural style that builds strong network with finance colleagues across C&H, Food and Group
- Ability to drive the property finance agenda, including through management and development of team and prioritisation of efforts
- Strong team player but also happy to work independently on own initiative
- Willingness to challenge the status quo and an ability to manage change
