Description
Role: Manufacturing Technician
Location: Greenford - UB6 8UA
Duration: 6 month initial contract
Pay rate: £17 - £22 per hour
Job Purpose:
To assemble units and/or undertake repairs to PCB's following drawings and documentations according to aerospace industry practices within manufacturing timescales.
Key responsibilities:
- To assemble units following drawings and documentation
- Work to clients Precision Control Systems and aerospace industry standard procedures
- To undertake repairs of assemblies or PCB's as instructed
- To work within established manufacturing times
- To provide recommendations for improvements
- To undertake prototype or mechanical assembly as requested by your line manager
- Ensure that all documentation is completed and up-to date
- Ordering and checking/rejecting of components
- To maintain the high quality standards that our customer expects.
- To be flexible across operations and undertake work in accordance with your skill set.
- Planning and organising your tasks daily.
- Ensure that your skills Matrix is up to date
- There may be additional activities to perform from time to time in order to maximise the contribution to the clients Controls' goals and objectives (include in all to capture any other duties not stated)
Skills/Experience:
Essential
- Experience in working in manufacturing environment
- Ability to work on own and within a team
- Good communication skills
- Able to follow instructions
- Demonstrates good attention to detail producing consistently high quality work
- Computer literate
- Adaptable and flexible approach to their work
- Experience in managing their daily key activities to achieve timescales to quality
Desirable
- Proven capability to recognize IPC standards
- Has worked in an Aerospace Organisation
- ONC, City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline
- Has worked to IPC standards or currently has the IPC qualification
