Configuration/Deployment Manager
A European Institution are looking to hire a Configuration/Deployment Manager, with the expertise to configure the deployment of new versions of applications and to contribute to the management of the infrastructure.
The infrastructure team support in the development of the IT systems Grant Management and the "Compass Corporate" workflow engine.
The infrastructure that the Grant Management systems run on a platform based around a suite of Middleware products called "Oracle SOA suite" and includes "Weblogic server, "Oracle Service Bus", "Oracle BPM".
The infrastructure that the "Compass Corporate" systems run on is based on Springboot microservices running in Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes. Tools used include Kakfa, Zookeeper, Prometheus, Elastic Search.
The effective management of these platforms and of the operations required to bring new version of applications to production, requires very specialised expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of the configuration of the applications.
- Configuration of automated deployment of new versions of applications to both Weblogic infrastructure and microservice-based platforms.
- Management of the deployment procedures for new versions of applications.
- Management of Weblogic application Servers
- Analysis of the performance of the applications
- Production of technical documentation
- Installation, configuration and optimisation of "Elastic Search" tools.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of software deployment management.
- A good understanding of "Weblogic server" administration and configuration.
- Good knowledge of Scripting languages such as WLST, Python, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge of deployment tools such as Bamboo.
- A good understanding of Linux system administration would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of Oracle databases and SQL would be advantageous.
- An understanding of automated configuration tools such as Rundeck, Ansibel would be advantageous.
- An understanding of microservice architectures based on Springboot would be advantageous.
