Mechanical Design Engineer

Rate: £25 to £35 per hour dependent on experience
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Mechanical Design Engineer required for exciting contract working within an intensive R&D environment on high tech, multi-material, bespoke, high value projects. You will be working within a highly creative team respected for being the best in their field on a range of unique, cutting edge products.

Skills and experience Required

• Mechanical Design experience - producing schematics, modelling and detailing. Working in a fast-paced R&D environment, time pressured and able to work at short notice on changing design briefs.
• Advanced skills in Solidworks, 3D and 2D modelling
• Exposure to AutoCAD
• Competent with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Ability to produce complex 3D modelling, including making decisions on component selection, understand scheduling and budgeting
• Able to demonstrate examples of where you have had to work to a changed brief at short notice
• Able to think on your feet and work with stakeholders to capture requirements and act accordingly
• Able to work autonomously but give regular check-in and feedback on milestones throughout the design phase
• Competent with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
