Solution Architect - End user services

Role Summary:
Solution Architect is a practical position that involves leading project implementations from a technology perspective. The position demands direct interaction with customers and internal teams. The Solution/Technical Architect provides technical guidance and training to the implementation teams as well as ensuring that the implementations follow the finest practice in configuration principles.
The role of Solution Architect is responsible for the technical design, support and delivery of all complex customer solutions.

The role consists of five main elements: 
- Engagement with customers to define technology solutions for integration and validation
- Technical Lead on solution deployment projects, including hands on configuration of complex components including datacenter build and migration
- Providing 3rd line support to our team for technology transformation and refresh guidance
- Ongoing technical authority with our larger customers providing continuing review of migration/
transformation activities
- Providing specific technical expertise to solve customer problems on project specific activities

The role requires excellent technical skills across a wide range of technologies.

Solution/Technical Architect will have extensive knowledge on the following;

Primary Skills
- Desktop OS

- End User Device Management tools: MS SCCM, IBM Endpoint Manager, Microsoft EMS, AirWatch or MaaS 360, SCCD
- Application: AppStore, MSI Re-packing tools, App Virtualization and App publishing +Remote Desktop Services
- Endpoint Protection using Symantec or McAfee products, device, file and folder encryption; Azure Information Protection, ATR, Microsoft Identity and Access management, Azure Identify and access control and SIEM
- Windows server 2008 R2, Win 2012 R2, Win 2016, VMWare Horizon VDI, Citrix XenDesktop 7.1, 7.5 & 7.6,
- Active Directory, Azure AD, ADFS, EMS, Office 365 Exchange, Sharepoint and Skype for business

- Self-help tools: Biometric Password reset, Self-healing, Self-help and Chatbot

- Responsible for significant cross functional initiatives, typically with large budgets and sizable staff, focused on meeting customer commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholder and internal staff.
- Provide leadership, vision and direction for both internal team and customers. Use knowledge of mission and core strategy as a basis to develop specific objectives and goals. This Solution/Technical Architect will be viewed as an expert, highly sought after resource and a key advisor to management and customer.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Technical lead and subject matter expert for the specific technology Solution expertise listed prior. Responsible for design and hands-on implementation for these specific technologies.
- Defining strategy level architectures and Subject Matter Expertise - business Solution target and capability architectures
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to the teams for project level architectures and design work
- Ensure customer and HCL architecture related processes and standards are followed and adhered
- Creating architectural and technology roadmaps that result in stronger alignment with customer requirements
- Defines the responsibilities of parties involved in the project including customers, management, project team, vendors and others affected by the project.
- Maintains effective communication and working relationships with customers and project team members.
- Identifies the technical approach to be used on a given project and manages implementation including development of a strategic plan, systems analysis, technical design, testing and acceptance of a system and/or application.
- Develops system review schedules, audits and acceptance tests for each phase of a project.
- Identifies system design alternatives, researches existing systems in the marketplace and recommends viable solutions.
- Identifies and documents opportunities to integrate systems and resources to fulfil project requirements.
- Prepares and presents oral and/or written technical reports and project presentations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree or MBA preferred) from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration,
- Have ten (12 to 15) years of Full time experience managing the implementation and support of information technology projects with at least 3-5 years as Solution/Technical Architect and 3-5 years of consulting and pre-sales experience
- Working with diverse and multi-region teams. Experience with global delivery using offshore/onsite model
- Ability to interpret technical procedures to customers, and internal team members
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members and customer representatives.
- Ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members.
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize current word processing, spreadsheet, database, email and Internet software.
- Writing proficiency and visual design skills, oral presentation skills, ability to develop, lead, motivate and supervise working teams, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding record of success, both in results achieved and in use of professional methodology. Pro-active in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
- Identifies, develops and initiates innovations and solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist. Works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
- Demonstrates superior collaboration skills and techniques which appropriately define alternate solutions, resolve conflicts and create lasting productive partnerships with customers

- Handles broad-based, often complex, communication for internal and/or external audiences. Creates a forum and format for ongoing open communication within functional area and customers
- Regularly makes decisions and takes independent action on matters directly affecting strategic goals. Guides staff and project managers in learning and applying useful decision makes approaches.
