Position: IT Helpdesk/Hardware Inventory Specialist

Location: Columbia, SC

Duration: 6 Months

Job function:

  • Customer communication for all new and gently used end user technologies (PC/Peripherals) requested by customers to support all lines of business to ensure accurate quality deployment

Candidate technical background:

  • Work in a customer service environment or in a technical call center/help desk. Experience gathering technical requirements and scheduling work with customers. (Minimum of 1 year experience)
  • Experience with customer communications, must have good listening skills and to be able to document requirements or log issue accurately (Required, 1 Year)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Role will require direct communication with customer via Email and telephone.
  • Knowledge of end user computing products such as PC's, Peripherals, network printers, Various software products such as MS Office, Adobe, Terminal Emulation, document management, software skills Win7/Win10 OS.
  • Familiar with MS Office Products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

Daily tasks:

  • Customer Communications (voice and email)
  • Documents customer requirements
  • Ticket Queue Management
  • General knowledge of PC, Peripheral, Network printers, Hardware
  • Preparing software specification build records
  • Equipment Scheduling
  • PC Hardware inventory

Job responsibilities:

  • Receive all incoming technical hardware requests
  • Validate hardware and software requirements with the customer
  • Manage and Distribute work to various teams to ensure equipment is being received and delivered to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Manage build lab inventory for distribution
  • Process recorded all completed deployments in system of record

Job description:

  • Customer communication for all incoming technical hardware requests through phone and or email communication. Manage incoming request end to end. Document customer specifications this includes hardware and software requirements to support the deployment process. Manage and distribute work up to 5 areas that support the equipment delivery and disposal process
  • Review hardware/software reports accurately document software build specification. Produce configuration record, gather customer location and primary and secondary contacts
  • Queue management, Ticket documentation, Scheduling and inventory checks
