Senior Front End Developer - 9mth Contract - React.js
50% Remote, 50% in Central Oxford
£460/day
Fullstack is currently working on behalf of a leading digital media company based in Oxford, assisting with their search for an experienced Front End Developer with strong React/Redux experience to join them on a 9mth contract basis.
Responsible for leading the development of an innovative web application, the Senior Front End Developer will be required to work with minimal Back End services and no user accounts - this is very much an application where the magic happens on the Front End.
The challenges are unique, for example interfacing directly between hardware and the browser and interaction with web-based IDEs (including web-based compilers). The application draws on technology from partners around the world, and you will be working closely with engineering teams inside Arm, Microsoft, MIT, Nominet and with the global Python Community to deliver innovations that transform the way computing is understood around the world.
We're looking for someone to lead a project team alongside a more junior fullstack engineer and a UX expert. We're flexible about whether or not this includes full line management responsibility for these two team members. The Front End Developer needs to be entrepreneurial and collaborative (whilst also able to work independently) and diligent in delivering robust and maintainable solutions. This is a new project with very little Legacy to complicate the design process. There are some dependencies that must be interfaced with, but the nature of these interactions are to be defined by the project team.
From a technical standpoint, the Front End Developer MUST have a good understanding of React/Redux, webpack/socket.io and CI tools. Any previous experience of Encryption technologies, live chat or in particular the Pusher JavaScript library will be looked upon favourable.
