Interim Head Of Finance- 12 month contract- Eastbourne

Resource Solutions are currently recruiting for a Head Of Finance to join a global insurance provider on a 12 month contract. This will be based in Eastbourne, with flexibility for remote working or working out of other offices 2-3 days a week and flexible working hours.

You will hold overall responsibility for a Finance team of approximately 18, with 3 direct reports yourself, which sits as part of the wider team number of circa 400 employees. In this role, you will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Strategy & Change Management
    • You will support the development of the strategy and the respective strategic vision, delivering agreed financial and business objective as part of the wider operating plan
    • You will manage a variety of internal stakeholders at varying levels across our various operating companies and relative departments, as well as being a member of the Senior Leadership Team within Health Services
    • You will also provide detailed budgets and forecasts, as well as delivering a high-level operating plan for Finance
  • Financial Management, Investment Solutions & Operational Planning
    • Ensure all group internal and statutory reporting requirements are met, and budgets are effectively managed to mitigate any risks
    • Ensure delivery, review and commercial analysis of monthly Management Accounts
  • Lead & Develop Finance Customer Service
    • Regularly monitor and review for improvements, supporting the design, development and delivery of innovation and simplification of our operating processes
    • Ensure resource planning and recruitment for Finance keep pace with business needs, to ensure delivery of SLAs
    • Provide MI to support key decision making across the business, as well as supporting the Tender & Implementation process
  • Risk, Compliance & Legal
    • Establish and maintain governance procedures to ensure all regulatory accounting requirements and policies are met, managing full finance system review and delivering system upgrades, as well as ensuring security compliance with Finance Accounting Package
    • Ensure all 3rd party suppliers adhere to Group policies

Qualifications

. You must be a fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent), with a proven track record of managing a successful finance business function through driving business performance and commercial growth.

. You will have the ability to think creatively at a strategic level, creating a compelling business vision and design, and implementing for strategic growth and change. In line with this, you will need to have strong people and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and manage stakeholder at a variety of levels.

. Budget management experience is essential, and you must be able to calmly manage conflicting priorities and challenges, making informed decision and getting the necessary buy in. Due to the seniority of the role, you must be comfortable planning at a strategic level and managing a high performing team, whilst ensuring delivery of both the finance and the wider Health services operating plan.

. You must also be comfortable managing operational demands on a day to day basis, ensuring queues, cash management and invoicing is dealt with in a timely manner with support of the team.
