Engagement and Communications Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engagement and Communications Manager to join our public sector client to be based in Leeds. This role is broad and offers a great opportunity to be involved with a really exciting programme of work.

The successful candidate will have the following roles and responsibilities;

*Planning and initiating engagement and communications activity with an international community of learners and alumni from online courses. The community are largely from developing economies so an understanding of channels to this audience is required.
*Working with peers and a small team to encourage participant completion and alumni engagement with online courses.
*Manage a team to develop relationships with learners and alumni through email, telephone and synchronous online communications tools (eg Skype).
*Setting up processes to ensure alumni feedback and evidence of course impact are systematically captured to inform reporting to senior stakeholders.
*Identifying opportunities to draw on alumni stories to encourage participation and engagement in online courses, working with Content and Production teams within the Service to produce high-quality marketing assets featuring alumni.
*Managing online events such as webinars, including communication, learner registration and webinar hosting.
*Managing course hosting activities on online learning platforms (eg Coursera, FutureLearn).
*Developing and maintaining a database of learner and alumni contacts to enable analysis of learner behaviours.
*Originating and generating communications (email and online) aimed at encouraging learners to engage in online courses.
*Developing a full range of communication channels and tools to communicate with a non-traditional learner audience.
*Working with the Digital Analytics and Insight Manager to utilise alumni feedback for course evaluation.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences;

*Education to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent professional qualification and/or experience;
*Significant experience of working in the third sector with non-traditional audiences;
*Experience of scoping, planning and initiating engagement and communications projects;
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively;
*The ability to lead a team effectively, briefing staff appropriately and delegating work effectively;
*Experience of data analysis and quantitative research techniques including questionnaire design and survey analysis;
*Experience of qualitative research techniques, including discussion design and moderation/analysis of focus groups and in-depth interviews;
*Strong IT skills, proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, with the ability to learn and use new systems;
*Significant experience of copy- and report writing to a variety of audiences;
*Experience of using email management systems such as NewZapp or Mailchimp;
*Experience of using databases or CRMs for contacts management and/or engagement;
*Significant experience in a customer or student facing role;
*Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills including the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including international audiences;
