Infrastructure Project Manager
Start: 8.4.2019
End: 28.6.19
Volume: 40 hours per week
Location: Notthingham or Birmingham

Although primarily delivering the implementation of a specific project for the client this project will need to align with
The initial scope for this project includes the existing File Services such as mapped drives, SharePoint, sFTP, eDiva/ DFS, etc plus any other hosting locations connected where data is accessed and/ or passes through the current DC environments. As indicated the scope is to be confirmed in the resulting output of the pre-study analysis currently being conducted by the suppliers.
This project will suit a senior PM with proven ability and/ or knowledge of classic data centre migration project deliveries. The ability to manage stakeholders, business unit engagement, and supplier deliverables to agreed schedules in an aggressive timescale is essential, as is the ability to produce regular tracking artifacts, reports and communications updates appropriate to this project, objectives and status.
- Analysis and verification of the 'as is' IT landscape of the identified systems, applications, data and/or services
- Identification of any change or gaps in the current understanding of the 'as is' landscape
- Apply the defined the client's IT strategy, architecture, design and security standards
- Definition of the 'to be' requirements to land the systems, application, data, services into the new hosting locations
- Steer for the migration plan(s) to be in place for the identified infrastructure, systems and services into the new hosting environment with the suppliers to achieve the target timescales
- Coordinate for suitable controls to be put in place to manage the subscribed milestone deliverables
- Engage with the business units and to develop and communicate plans, potential impact, data moves, user testing, etc to be able to achieve a successful signoff
- Manage any project variances to scope, deliverables, etc following defined change processes
- Trigger and coordinate de-commissioning of any unused infrastructure identified during the discovery activities of the project and/or upon migration

Key Skill Requirements
- experience in the Energy and Utilities sector
- accredited and strong project management skills and experience
- previous experience in managing large infrastructure migration related projects
- sound understanding of IT data centre infrastructure, connectivity, technologies and services
- highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
- extensive experience of managing service provides (DXC and TSI experience preferred), plus third parties, preferably gained in an outsourced IT environment
- strong experience of risk and change management (and responsiveness to change)
- highly self-dependent, result-driven and process-oriented way of working Strong IT infrastructure project delivery experience are therefore essential to this role, along with persuasive supplier management skills. And a working knowledge of DXC and/ or TSI would be a distinct advantage.
