Description

Solution Architect (Java, Web Services, ESB, SOA, Mobile Devices) - Namur, Belgium - French speaking

(Architecte)

One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a Solution Architect.

Please find some details below:

The various departments of the client have developed, for many years now, a lot of applications, mostly in "Silo mode" and some of which now show signs of obsolescence more and more marked.

It is therefore necessary to change this application portfolio and/or to renew it gradually, both for bring technological improvements (web, responsive design, mobility, SOA, interoperability) and to bring business improvements (better strategic alignment, streamlining, uniqueness functions and data).

One of the possible approaches to tackle this problem is to perform what is qualified in the French-speaking world of "urbanization" approach or study.

Such an approach can be briefly summarized as follows:

- It starts in "top-down" mode, starting from the strategy and the business objectives, the mission, vision, etc. to result in an ideal target information system ("TO BE", "Target-first");

- It then continues in "bottom-up" mode, analysing the existing ("AS IS") and in defining accordingly the steps of transition to the target ("roadmap");

- It ends ideally by cutting IT transformations into programs and coherent projects and by their financial evaluation.

This type of approach has already been carried out for one of our Departments, it will be implemented in coming months for another and is likely to be later expanded for all the others.

In this context, client wishes to employ the services of a "town planner" architect experienced in the field and able to lead this type of approach and mission in a relatively autonomous way.

To do this, the person is expected to have at least:

- theoretical knowledge of methods, techniques and tools associated with computer urbanization;

- proven practical experience in this area, having successfully less than 2 or 3 missions of this type;

- an easiness to operate in the top-down mode which involves interactions with top management,

- an understanding of the job and its expectations, and a high degree of discernment;

- a good technical understanding of application and development tools;

- an experience in modelling, communication and extension;

- minimum of knowledge and experience in assessments program/project budgets.

Complementary to the studies of urbanization, and in the measure of the available time which it will remain, the selected architect will also be responsible for:

- write architecture files respecting the model put in place by the DAS, and this priority for projects with a strong business connotation that may arise from studies urbanization;

- contribute to the definition of the architecture of transversal components or services with strong potential for reuse in various "target" business applications of the SPW;

- ensure, in liaison with the project coordinators of the Software Solutions Department and

Projects the architectural monitoring of various projects resulting from its work.

(S)he is therefore expected to have as much knowledge and experience as he/she can material.
