Electrical/Electronic Design Production Support Engineer

Up to £40 p/hour
My client is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to join their busy team in Cheltenham for 6 months. An electrical engineering background is a must to take on this role.
The successful candidate will be involved in supporting aviation products and components as well as technical support for supplier queries. Candidates with backgrounds in aviation, automotive electrical production or nuclear configuration control are highly desirable.
Key Activities
- Change authority for products within the team portfolios, including changes to technical documentation, drawings, bills of materials, etc
- Support cost out initiatives
- Support technical issues resulting from production line failures
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action through the use of established problem solving tools (eg 8D, Apollo, Fault Tree Analysis)
- Technical support to the sourcing department for all component and supplier queries
- Identify and lead process improvement and material cost reduction initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
- Qualification to Degree level or above in an electronic/electrical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a engineering or post design role
- Experience working in an electronic/electrical design role
- Strong design document & configuration knowledge.
- Experience of working in a similar role, environment, not limited to aerospace.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
