The Role
Key Accountabilities
Supporting the Commercial Delivery Manager - Site Operations and Programmes in the day to day management of a portfolio of contracts;
Following the business processes that support the Contract Management Team as defined in the LLWR Management System;
Making safety the number one priority and operates with the highest standards of integrity;
Maintaining an awareness of supplier capability and financial stability to support the needs of the organisation
Maintaining a knowledge base of contract terms and conditions to ensure that contract management can be delivered effectively
Preparation/contribution of contract documents such as subcontract, procurement, programme and project strategies that consider a range of options and articulate how the associated contracting benefits are realised ie savings & efficiencies.
Ensuring that adequate records are in place;
Managing contract reviews;
Manage contractual risk;
Preparing regular management reports;
Preparation of standard documentation - reports, valuations, letters, financial statements etc.;
Preparation of tender documents as required by Project team;
Drafting of contract terms and conditions;
Analysing tenders and preparing tender reports at all stages of procurement;
Assessment of monthly applications for payment and prepare financial statements;
Measuring performance against Key Performance Indicators and Incentivisation arrangements;
Maintaining contract records and correspondence;
Settlement of construction disputes;
Preparing and agreeing final accounts;
Producing lessons learnt report for post contract review;
Managing change management process, early warnings, compensation events, PMI's, SMI's, etc.
Deputising for the Commercial Delivery Manager as and when required
Assisting with project control team and supplier in rationalising project Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports
Requesting Goods Receipt Numbers (GRN) from Cost Engineers
Raising Purchase Orders on LLWR's Business World finance system (formerly SAP)
Assist in the monitoring and reviewing of orders, commitments, trends and changes;
Reporting against Commercial activities by providing data for internal and external reports and assisting in the preparation of regular Management Reports;
Attending team and other project, contract meetings as necessary;
Supporting and managing implementation of innovative ideas to improve contractor performance.
Agreement and certification of sub-contractor's interim valuations and final accounts
Key Requirements
BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent and/or a proven track record of relevant experience;
Relevant experience in the industry;
Experience of managing Sub-Contractors under contracts;
Understanding of contract preparation, procurement procedures and contract administration;
Demonstrable ability to deal with people across a wide range of management levels and technical
expertise;
Proactive and self-motivated;
Effective time management - efficient and adding value to projects;
Excellent report writing skills;
Experience of NEC3 contract management (ECC, PSC, TSC);
Ability to prioritise and able to work under pressure;
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues;
Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work;
Technical awareness and ability to deliver all post contract service delivery and problem solving;
A high level of drive and energy to ensure that contracts are managed safely to cost and to schedule;
Self-motivated team player and a good communicator;
Familiar with management systems and procedures for procurement and contract management.
