Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Manager required to lead the Internal Communications workstream of a high-impact, organisation-wide transformation programme at a large and publicly listed organisation based in Greater Manchester. The change programme involves all facets of the organisation including Sales, Marketing, HR, Technology, Compliance & Legal.

You will have a demonstrable track record of developing and leading high-impact, large-scale communication programmes within large organisations (audiences in excess of 1000+) leveraging a variety of channels and platforms, including social media.

Engaged at Programme Inception you will have the opportunity to design and lead the Communications Plan. However, this does demand an individual with experience in creating and delivering communications strategies from the ground up. You will own the communications plan and ensure that each of the delivery workstreams have an aligned communications approach with dependencies appropriately mapped and managed.

The initial contract length will be 6 months with strong potential for extension as part of a 2 year programme of change.

Must Have Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years leading communications programmes within large organisations
  • Demonstrable experience in creating internal communications campaigns
  • Clear understanding of how to segregate audiences and choose the most effective communications channels
  • Experienced in the management of external agencies alongside internal marketing and communication resource
  • Ability to build strong, productive working relationships including exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in facilitating and running design workshops, ensuring appropriate participation and input across key business stakeholders
  • Project Management experience including the management of risks and dependencies and the creation and management of a delivery plan.
  • Proven ability to write effective copy when required.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within a regulated environment (eg financial services, insurance)
  • SharePoint experience
  • Workplace Delivery Experience
