MS SQL/Oracle DBA - Liege, Belgium

Languages: ENGLISH and French.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in IT or similar by experience.
  • B.S in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in managing all aspects of SQL Server/Oracle database administration.
  • Experience with SQL server 2008R is required.
  • Experience with Oracle is required.
  • Must be familiar with Always On availability group operations.
  • Must be familiar with Multitenant (pluggable DB), Dataguard, RAC architectures.
  • DBA Specific
  • Very good knowledge & troubleshooting skills in MSSQL from 2008 to 2016 (including HA-DR solution) - at least 5 years' experience.
  • Good knowledge & troubleshooting skills in Oracle DBMS 12c, 18c (including RMAN, Dataguard, RAC, ASM) - at least 3 years' experience
  • Good knowledge in database daily operations (monitoring, backup, Installation, configuration, tuning, users mgt, security roles).

Description of work:

  • Provide 24x7 operation support on all the Production, Test and Development databases.
  • Perform Installation, Configuration, Upgrade, and Migration of Databases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database availability, connectivity, performance issues, and security issues.
  • Troubleshoot application related issues, timeouts, deadlocks, and maintain application performance.
  • Ensure all databases are backed up to meet the business's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery time Objective (RTO).
  • Perform database restores as needed, either in production or to refresh Test/UAT/ACC environment databases.
  • Monitor alerts dashboard and incident ticket queue to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Configure database monitoring using third party tools and reduce false alarms.
  • Work on documenting database environments and standard operating procedures.
