Key responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for continuous optimisation of the multichannel digital journeys, ensuring optimal conversion rates for macro and micro conversions, and is accountable for the creation and operation of a CRO capability (including the creation, deployment and improvement of A/B and MVT experiments)

  • Additionally, this is a key role in the transformation of Customers into a digitally enabled function, embedding the tools and practices of continuous optimisation into the organisation.

  • The job holder will develop and establish channel optimisation processes around commercial management of digital channels, and is responsible for optimisation of commercial and customer satisfaction results on digital channels. This is a highly specialist digital role in the area of digital channel management.

  • Planning, execution and reporting of activity around channel optimisation

  • Creation of digital optimisation roadmap and management of optimisation activity, working with Service Owners and Product Owners to drive backlog and platform development

  • Deploy a programme of insight-based continuous improvement for all digital journeys, demonstrating full use of customer and market insight and segmentation around attitudes & lifestyles as well as digital best practice.

  • Develop and maintain the digital optimisation best practice, tools, channel management processes, documents, etc

  • Proactively identify & investigate new digital optimisation opportunities, including tools, services, processes and vendors; which may be exploited to ensure competitiveness & profitability. Use insight to challenge existing practices where benefits are clear

  • Manage & influence colleagues to move to mature optimisation practices and digital-first thinking.

  • Budget - responsibility for the effective use of digital optimisation budget elements

  • Value creation - optimise the business KPIs required from digital sales and service journeys at macro and micro level, to increase revenue, loyalty, product uptake and higher NES

  • Cost reduction - drive down operational costs in line with business requirements, driving up efficiency and velocity

  • Quality - Develop effective processes, tools and guidelines to maximise quality and eliminate cost/errors/rework

Knowledge/Skills:

  • A strategic thinker who is highly numerate and analytical with a proven track record of commercial acumen

  • Familiarity with principles and processes associated with generating insight, experiments, roadmaps, optimisation, test and learn and reporting, with a strong sense for effectiveness, cost and resource options for all optimisation methodologies, toolsets and quality requirements

  • Extraordinary attention to detail and quality

  • Good awareness of digital technologies, platforms, user experience and analytics

  • High level of business and market awareness

  • Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills

  • An ability to carry out situation, option and impact assessments and performance reviews

  • Excellent problem solving skills and a commercial focus

  • Adaptable, with experience of multi-tasking and working at own initiative to deliver tasks on time, budget and target

  • Strong digital and / or digital marketing background with experience of managing a roster of internal and external partners to provide consistently high-quality digital optimisation and strong commercial performance
