JOB DESCRIPTION

Digital & Systems Trainers are responsible for delivering existing course programmes and are integral to the consultation, research, development and implementation of new systems and process training; to accelerate digital change through skill development across all levels of the organisation

This placement will be 12 months.

If the Intern performs well and there is a vacancy within the Training Team there may be permanent employment available.

Summary of Role:

We have many training requirements over the next 18 months, from developing e-learning courses for our flagship Projects to the roll-out of Laptops, Skype and Office 365. In addition there is a huge demand to improve IT skills throughout as we seek to transform and introduce more end-to-end digital processes.

The Internship will supplement the existing IT Training team allowing a greater capacity which is required for this surge in training requirements. Those in the training team work closely together, the Intern will benefit from this inclusive culture, they will receive a broad range of experience of applications and training methods with full support from the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility;

  • Research, consult, storyboard, develop digital eCourses and produce support guides.
  • Research, design, deliver classroom course content and produce support materials.
  • Consult, develop on-brand infographic knowledge videos for training and wider business.
  • Deliver Monday new starter inductions across the organisation.
  • Learning Management System management for system eLearning; general training administration.

The above list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and overall business objectives and values of LiveWest.

Level of Support

Speak daily, meet for regular 121s (dependent on intern's confidence, this could be weekly/more/less if required). A mentor will be allocated.

  • Understand business systems sufficiently to write training materials.
  • Produce e-learning/video-based training materials for our colleagues to study.
  • Deliver training workshops and inductions to classes.
  • Manage IT courses on the Learning Management System (LMS)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Attainments/Qualifications

  • Good level of literacy, numeracy and IT literacy
  • Relevant undergraduate degree, including IT, Data Science, Computer Science and Digital Technology Solutions
  • Teaching qualification (Desirable)
  • Multimedia qualification (Desirable)
  • Skills and Understanding

  • eDeveloper capability and infographic video production and editing skills.
  • Regular travel to alternative sites and overnight stays (essential);
  • Ability to handle busy workload, changing priorities and deal with interruptions positively.
  • Collate, analyse customer feedback to inform training service delivery.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of people at all levels with different levels of IT ability.
  • Capable of problem solving, use initiative and work with minimum supervision.
  • Interpersonal skills, particularly listening, ability to build strong working relationships.
