JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of our transformation to adopt digital processes across the business our Business Systems Analysts will be involved in multiple projects to assist in evaluating and implementing new technology, e.g. automated robotic processes. Alongside this we are creating a more flexible workforce and investing in new technology to promote mobile working; our Business Systems Analysts will configure with this new technology to ensure that we take advantage of improvements in efficiency and customer services.

This role will supplement the existing Business Systems Analysts allowing them the additional capacity required to deliver the projects to transform the business. The Intern will get a broad range of experience of existing and new applications with full support from the Business & Digital Systems team.

This role is for 12 months

If the candidate performs well and there is a vacancy within the Business & Digital Systems Team, there is the prospect of permanent employment.

Summary of Role:

The Graduate Business Systems Analyst will work with various teams across LiveWest to continuously improve all business systems and processes, ensuring their best use and identifying more efficient ways of working at all times

Duties and Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility;

  • Working with managers and staff to continuously improve business systems and processes, thus contributing to the achievement of LIVEWEST strategic aims
  • Ensure that the business systems are administered and monitored effectively to ensure the best use across the business
  • Identifying new business process opportunities and translating this into the business systems to provide opportunities that allow people to work efficiently and effectively for the customer
  • Consulting and advising managers on the use of Business systems, and working with them to enable teams to deliver their objectives through the use of the business systems
  • Ensure that any business continuity items are considered within business systems and implemented within the infrastructure for maximum resilience in the environment
  • Ensure that data quality, control and configuration are managed through the change control environment to deliver successful and positive outcomes for the business
  • Administration and maintenance of all integration within the business systems infrastructure ensuring maximum uptime for the business
  • Working closely with information technology colleagues to ensure that the business systems are adequately resourced and capacity is monitored on a regular basis to ensure a fast and responsive access to the staff and customers

Level of Support

Speak daily, meet for regular 121s (dependent on intern's confidence, this could be weekly/more/less if required). A mentor will be allocated.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Attainments/Qualifications

  • Good level of literacy, numeracy and IT literacy
  • Relevant undergraduate degree, including IT, Data Science, Computer Science and Digital Technology Solutions
  • Database qualifications (including SQL language). (Desirable)
  • Business Analysis qualification (Desirable)

    Skills and Understanding

  • Experience of systems change management
  • Experience of project management
  • Relevant business systems and information technology experience (generalist or specialist)
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, Client side technologies, Microsoft Windows Operating System, Citrix Services, Active Directory, Web Technologies, cloud operating models
  • Excellent understanding of business systems environment and requirements gathering
  • Process flow and Lean techniques, when defining business requirements
  • Good appreciation of networks and infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly present technical information to non-technical staff
  • Ability to create detailed plans, procedures and policies
  • A systematic and planned approach with an ability to work under pressure, plan time effectively and work to deadlines
