Senior Linux Consultant with Radius - Dublin based - 6 month contract - €450 per day
Our client, a large telecommunications company, is looking for a Senior Linux Consultant to join their team. The suitable candidate will be competent engineers capable of interpreting high and low level designs and analysing data from multiple data sources in order to deploy critical infrastructure components. They may work independently on some complex issues although typically this may be within a Matrix team or under supervision. They will work independently on standard infrastructure issues and potentially on solutions from inception to in-life where they would be required to apply their expertise to help influence the architecture from inception and then use it further in the implementation stage to ensure RFT delivery. These opportunities would typically be performed under the guidance of a senior engineer where they may also be offered the opportunity of taking full responsibility for the infrastructure once in-life. They will be central to effective team work within their organisation supplementing coaching form the senior engineer and taking ownership of delegated duties to help drive the timely delivery of solutions to customer requirements. They will have a good knowledge of both deployed and some emerging technologies and be able to utilise and develop this knowledge primarily within implementation and integration, but also within operations and design activity as required. They would be expected to be able to own elements of high level specifications/designs for new solutions and solution components contributing to ensure that deployments work effectively, integrate with other components and deliver the end to end outcomes and performance required.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Accountable for the implementation and integration, support and maintenance of complex/multiple infrastructre components or locations
- Provides technical consulting at component/product/site level using technical skills to identify innovative solutions
- Interpreting high and low level designs and analysing data from multiple sources in order to deploy critical infrastructure components
- Take ownership for elements of high level specifications/designs for new solutions and solution components
- Contribute to inter and cross discipline collaboration and work with senior engineers to implement efficiency and improvement projects with the aim to minimise service disruption to our customer

- Webservers - Apache

- Graphing: Cricket, Cacti
- Scripting skills: PHP, Perl, Python, Bash Shell
