HPC Storage Architect - Gothenburg - Contract - £550p/d

We are looking to further bolster our inhouse team by recruiting talented Storage SME/Architect for HPC technologies.

Who you'll be working with You will be working with cutting edge InfiniBand Storage Technologies that underpin our client HPC computing infrastructure. This position is within NEU Managed Services and the clients specialist HPC teams that are primarily responsible for providing client centric Cloud, HPC, End User/Productivity and IoT and Legacy hosting services. We provide a variety of client services, which range from strategic advice through to project delivery.

The focus of your role You will be responsible for assisting our client, and support personnel with subject matter expertise in EMC Isilon, Hadoop, OceanStor and Huawei scale-out storage technologies.

As the HPE SME/Architect, you will
Understanding of Deterministic latency troubleshooting and traffic flow optimisation
In depth understanding of InfiniBand connected Storage systems
This will require close engagement with our client, partners and application teams to leverage a standardised design for deployment within new premises
Be prepared to work in Sweden as required

What you'll bring
Demonstratable troubleshooting skills in InfiniBand storage systems
Knowledge of predictive failure information extraction methods
Experience with automation techniques to reduce management overhead and improve service levels
Understanding to produce multi-tier, high-availability infrastructure architectures in an Enterprise environment
Experience with application and infrastructure management and monitoring tools
Experience with executing quick technical feasibility and proposal development for deploying and troubleshooting identified workloads
Preference will be given to applicants with specific hardware knowledge
Understanding of security identifiers, resource identifiers, subsystem identifiers, ACLs, and detailed security auditing and alarms
Knowledge of Nagios/Thruk monitoring tools
Ability to interpret and recommend approaches for vendor life cycle management
Good working knowledge of processes and procedures (like ITIL) and ability to provide clear instructions for the creation of knowledge-based articles
Excellent English communication capabilities, both written and verbal
Understanding of backup and restore tooling requirements
Excellent consultancy skills
Ability to perform and conduct workshops and meetings to develop client solutions
Additional skills:
Exposure and understanding-automated build pipeline, continuous integration and continuous deployment
Huawei HPC infrastructure based on E9000 Servers/platform
