Description

Purpose:

* To provide actuarial support to the Central Transition workstream, in particular, supporting the financial impact assessment activities

Principal Accountabilities:

* Perform tasks and processes to support the analysis of the financial impact of IFRS 17. This includes data manipulation, assumption population, and use of Prophet/Excel.

* Summarise, validate and analyse results. Document results and analysis. Communicate those results to other members of the Core team.

* Perform the tasks necessary to enable the development, support, maintenance and continuous improvement of the team's IFRS17 financial impact estimation tool, processes and actuarial reporting methodologies.

* Support wider analytical and investigative work carried out by the team on an ad-hoc basis.

* Establish and maintain close working relationships with other IFRS17 teams. Work with the key business representatives, to identify their requirements.

Qualifications:

The role holder is a nearly/newly qualified actuary with experience in the Life Insurance industry.

The role holder has preferably had experience gained from a reporting team role.

Knowledge:

Previous experience of being part of a project team

The role holder should have a good knowledge of the financial reporting of life assurance business and the products and metrics involved

IFRS17 knowledge would be advantageous but not necessary

Prophet or other actuarial modelling software, Excel & VBA

Skills:

Deep actuarial skills for modelling. Good programming skills to be able to analyse/manipulate data using Excel VBA and Prophet modelling.

Problem solving and analytical skills (eg to break down the problem into separate components, form judgements, risk assessment and develop solution, with the ability to review results for reasonableness).

The role holder should have experience in communicating technical matters

Ability to work coherently with peers and contribute to the delivery of analysis within the project in a timely manner.
