Machine Operator- 6 months- Leamington Spa

Duration: 6 months

Start Date: ASAP

Hourly Rate: Please quote expectations ASAP

Location: Leamington Spa

5 years production operator experience
* Setting & operating 5 axis CNC mill/turn & 2 axis CNC lathes in a high volume production environment and be conversant with Fanuc Controls.
* Someone with experience working within a highly regulated environment preferably Medical & Aerospace
* Follow Standardised Working Procedures (SOP) work instructions
* Ability to stamp and verify and own work
* ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred

SUMMARY

Production Operators will be responsible for the setting & operating 5 axis CNC mill/turn & 2 axis CNC lathes in a high volume production environment and be conversant with Fanuc Controls. Operating of manual machines which may include conventional lathes, mills, de-burr stations, flat lap and polishing machines, sphere lap and polishing machines, pillar drills and various standard machine shop equipment.

Must be capable of working within a team environment, supporting production team to achieve daily targets.
Shift work will be required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

25% - Understand and adhere to Quality & Engineering written specifications and procedures 5% - Can perform quality inspection procedures on completed products using precision measuring equipment 25% - Set and Operate 5 Axis CNC Turning Centre 15% - Set and Operating of flat lap/polishing machines, sphere lap/polishing machines 5% - Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements (TPM), reporting machine breakdowns, calling for repairs in a timely fashion 10% - Follow Standardised Working Procedures (SOP) ensuring components are manufactured to validated routings 5% - Ability to obtain and maintain internal inspection stamp 5% - Accurate maintenance of records including Manufacturing History Record Cards (MHRC), Daily and Weekly TPM and 5'S schedules 5% - Maintains a safe and clean work environment, operates other equipment as necessary after training and performs other duties as assigned.

Education - ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred

Experience

Proven and significant experience working in a Medical devices environment or high precision manufacturing environment setting & operating 5 axis CNC mill/turn & 2 axis CNC lathes in a high volume production environment and be conversant with GE Fanuc Controls.

Competencies

Has the ability to analyze and identify potential problems within the Manufacturing process. Must be able to apply themselves to multi task roles, and understand the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
Possesses and optimizes ISO programming/editing skills to help troubleshoot and resolve programming issues. Able to work flexibly and take prompt action to achieve manufacturing goals, beyond what is required; being proactive.
