Reed Professional Services (RPS) is a Management Consultancy, technology services and outsourcing company specialising in IT, financial services and associated sectors. We specialise in partnership solutions, people skills and providing stability giving our clients powerful solutions and focused approach.

RPS are currently engaged with a top 4 UK banking organisation located in Canary Wharf, London to deliver a Single Statement of Work. In order to support this, the need for an experienced Business Development Manager has been identified to join our team.

Location: Canary Wharf

Duration: 3 months contract initially with the potential of an Extension

Role Profile

Working as a Business Development manager on behalf of RPS on the client site, you will be working closely with the specialist partnership team on sales pitches and to maintain a pipeline of opportunities to help achieve annual revenue targets.

You will be required to Identify, qualify, prioritise and filter opportunities alongside problem solving and decision making in supporting the internal support functions of the business to effectively develop and maintain a deep understanding of the customer base and its needs in order to develop considered payment solutions.

Required Skills and Competencies

Essential:

  • Previous experience working in a similar "New Business" Development role.
  • Experience working with existing clients and stakeholders to manage accounts.
  • Experience working within the Fintech space - either startup or SME based.
  • Solid knowledge/experience working in the retail payments/E-commerce space.
  • Understanding and appreciation of pain points within the retail environment.
  • Ability to bring new ideas, process and tooling into a dynamic and evolving team.
  • Proactive attitude - asking intelligent business questions internally and externally.
  • Client communication, engagement, networking and negotiation skills.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management experience is critical.
  • Experience working on desk and meeting based propositions (face to face client engagement).
  • Sound knowledge of processes and functions within a large corporate environment.
  • Demonstratable charisma and client facing experience.
  • Pitch preparation and presentation requires strong knowledge of PowerPoint and/or Keynote (supported by tech. person and strategy person).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Application Programming Interface (APIs)
  • Working knowledge of card schemes, their drivers, industry dynamics, interchange and future product service deliverables.
