On behalf of our client, an international finance institute located in Prague, we are looking for an external resource with skills and abilities as stated below.
Java Developer in Risk Product (Technology & Finance)financial area Prague - P618
The client is one of the leading global market infrastructure providers that provides trading, clearing, settlement, market data distribution and other services for a broad range of asset classes (securities, derivatives, FX ).
The Risk IT department focuses on Risk Services/CCP Risk Management and supports the growth into new products and markets.
The RDS/GUI team within Risk IT develops and maintains Java services for the RDS software and for a new Risk Engine for margin calculation that started this year.
The Reference Data Service (RDS) provides static data (members and accounts, products, risk methods, etc.) to other components within the programme.
The service is written in Java, running on JBoss, and Embedded in a Linux environment (bash, python, MySQL).
The new Risk Engine follows a cloud-centric paradigm and uses technologies such as Spring Boot, Angular, Kafka, Docker, and OpenShift.
Task and responsibilities
- Develop Java services for the new Risk Engine (mainly green-field)
- Develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the RDS software
- Work with business analysts and other teams on implementing new features
- Work with the technical maintenance team during user acceptance tests
- Manage your own project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
Mandatory skills and experience
- Advanced programming competency in Java
- Background in building distributed applications on Linux or in a cloud native stack
- Familiarity with SQL databases
- An appreciation of the challenges of building, running and maintaining a minimum downtime production system
- Interest and ability to learn, fit in collaborative working style
- Linux knowledge
- Good written and spoken English skills
Optional skills
- Experience with messaging (AMQP or similar)
- Experience with Apache Kafka
- Experience with developing cloud native and 12factor applications
- Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, OpenShift
- Experience with GitHub and/or CircleCI
- Experience with bash or python Scripting
- An interest or background in financial markets and risk management
