Your Skills
- Reporting directly to Battery Design Team Leader make design improvements to actual battery design, and push our technology further for the next generation.
- Use CAD to develop new concepts.
- Develop and fabricate functional prototypes and test methods to vet out new concepts.
- Complete design cycles from concepts to fully validated production designs.
- Battery system structural design, CAD, CAE, crush safety, component integration, and vehicle mechanical, thermal and high voltage electrical interface.
- Mechanical integration of battery cells, electromechanical components and hardware.
- Test plan development, issue resolution, and lab and in-vehicle testing of battery systems.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to develop parts.

Your Tasks
- Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering from concept through production release with a focus on DFM.
- A detail oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficient in CAD modelling, (CATIA v5 experience is required).
- Experience with various manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stamping, thermoforming, welding/brazing, plating, heat treating, bonding, and direct machine shop skills a plus.
- Test experience, including knowledge of sensors, DACs, data collection and data analysis is a plus but not mandatory.
- New grad to 5 years mechanical engineering experience.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering. MS beneficial but not required.
- Experience with student formula vehicle competition beneficial.
- Experience with full life cycle of product development processes.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEC, ISO and GB.
- Enjoys working in fast pace & diverse work environment and values candid communication.
- 2+ years of direct battery system development experience in automotive industry is a plus
