Description

Role Summary:

Manufacturing Engineers required to support aerospace electrical power panel assembly work, eg wiring/harnessing, mechanical assembly, environmental and acceptance testing, non-conformance rework as required.
This could be in an NPI or steady state environment depending on aircraft program assigned to.

Key Activities:

Support shop floor with rework planning and processing of non-conformance.
Update routing/build instructions as required using the company MES (Proficy).
Interprets data and acts as technical authority for build process authoring and tooling selection.
Recommends actions using Engineering knowledge and experience/judgement. Prepares and reviews procedures.
Influences Design for Manufacture. Review and embodiment of design changes.
Identify and implement the delivery of continuous improvement & the transfer of best practice.
Order new hand-tools and tooling to support production growth.

Essential responsibilities:

The ownership of the assigned task to completion.
Interaction with the GE Change management organisation in resolving document/drawing issues.
Evolution and/or authoring of build process instructions.
Validating build of product and ensuring stable manufacturing readiness.
Attendance of daily shop floor meetings representing M.E. function.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience of electrical power panel assembly in an aerospace environment.
Competent in the use of MS Word/Excel/Office and PDF tools.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Experience/knowledge of FAI, PFMEA, MRL, MCRL and 6s
