Role: Java Developer with Big Data environment
Location: London
Compensation: £500/Day to £600/Day
Employment Type: Contract
Job Specification:
Java Developer will work with various client teams and they will design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for systems and deliver high-availability and performance. They will contributing in all phases of the development life cycle.
To succeed in this role, Java developer roles and responsibilities include managing Java/Java EE application along with the big data using Hadoop components development while providing expertise in the full software development life cycle, from concept and design to testing
Key skills and experience:
- 8+ years professional software development experience and at least 4 years within Big data environment building data pipelines using Hadoop components like Sqoop, Hive, Pig, Spark, Spark SQL.
- Experience in Java development and design using Java 1.7/1.8.
- They should have good understanding of core features of Java and when to use them. Experience on Java, Scala and/or Python, Unix/Linux environment on-premises and in the cloud
- Experience with most of the following technologies (Apache Hadoop, Scala, Apache Spark, Spark streaming, YARN, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Presto, Python, ETL frameworks, MapReduce, SQL, RESTful services).
- Experience with industry standard version control tools (Git, GitHub), automated deployment tools (Ansible & Jenkins) and requirement management in JIRA
- Experience with developing Hive QL, UDF's for analysing semi structured/structured datasets
- Good understanding or experience of Cloud design patterns
- Experience on Debugging the Code issues and then publishing the highlighted differences to the development team/Architects;
- Experience with time-series/analytics DB's such as Elasticsearch
- Exposure to Agile Project methodology but also with exposure to other methodologies (such as Kanban)
