Firewall Engineer/Fortinet/Cisco/Enterprise Environment/Fortune 500
Currently our globally known client In Rotterdam is looking for a knowledgeable Firewall Engineer skilled in Firewall rules (creation/management), Firewall logs (monitoring), and Firewall device installation, configuration, architecture, and hardening. The Firewall Engineer will join the network team of a major Global organization, with hundreds of sites, to continually improve its complex global network and will play an important role in ensuring stability, integrity and continuity of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functionality.
Tasks:
- Work within the Cybersecurity Engineering and Chief Information Security Office (CISO) teams to promote the best network security engineering practices supporting the network
- Installation of Firewall devices to multiple sites nationwide
- Drive Firewall policies and compliance ensuring Firewall security standards are met
- Conversion of Firewall rules amongst different Firewall technologies
- Willing to travel to assist in the installation/configuration of Firewalls to nationwide sites
- Creation of Firewall rules in accordance with security policies and business needs, ensuring rules are not overly permissive and duplicative in nature
- Integration of Firewall logs with other technologies
- Firewall management and administration
- Firewall log analysis
Skills:
- Experience with large organization networks
- Cisco Nexus
- Very experienced with Fortinet Firewalls (rule creation, log monitoring, device installation, device configuration)
- Experienced with Fortimanager multi view
- Experience with Firewall integration security
- Able to chase, follow up, report and escalate on the progress of resolutions of outstanding issues within field offices
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to resolve security issues within an enterprise environment
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, NSE5
