Our client are a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team. This is initially a 12 month contracdt which may be extended for the right applicant. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and provide a professional sourcing, purchasing and supplier management function for wide range of goods and services which meet the principles of their Corporate Procurement Strategy.
The successful applicant will provide support to the Category Managers ensuring expenditure on goods and services provides value for money as well as sourcing goods and services and manage the client relationship ensuring the risk of contract failure are minimised and processes comply with legislation and financial procedures.
The successful applicant will ideally be CIPS qualified and be an experienced procurement professional. Any experience of working within the public sector would be a great advantage.
