Data Engineer Google Cloud SQL Python - Central London - Contract - Day Rate £500.CACI Ltd requires a Data Engineer with experience of using Google Cloud and extensive hands on coding experience in SQL and Python.
We use data in every part of the business to innovate and lead the market. Our communications business generates huge data volumes every single day. Key to the data strategy is the Data Engineering team which comprises a small number of Agile Data Engineers.
This role will be the engine that drives the next phase of the data programme. We are seeking to migrate a number of data pipelines from an Oracle data warehouse to a strategic cloud platform built in GCP.
Mandatory Skills:
- Extensive experience in ETL/Data warehousing/Big Data
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform
- Extensive hands on coding experience in SQL and Python
- Knowledge of Oracle databases and PL/SQL
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Google Cloud Builder)
- Experience with Git source code control
- Agile Experience using Scrum or Kanban.
- Client facing skill
- High level of verbal and written communication in English.
- Develop reusable data patterns and implement data pipelines following those patterns
- Work with other software engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and decision-makers, such as product owners, to build solutions
- Share your technical knowledge and guide more junior Data Engineers
- Implementation of best practice support and monitoring solutions
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies that will support the team in delivering quality solutions
- Work in cross-functional agile teams with an end-to-end responsibility for product development
- Some Spark would be beneficial
- DevOps with experience of CI/CD.
