Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Engineering Lead position is a senior implementation and Support Engineer with management oversight of the local team. This role interfaces with other engineering teams, internal service delivery, and customer personal to implement solutions using various cloud infrastructure based technologies, in an effort to meet the business needs of the customers. The person in this role maintains expert-level knowledge of technologies within specific functional areas, maintains required certifications, and fulfills a trusted advisor role among our customers on technical matters. It is expected that this role continues professional development by constantly building their knowledge base within areas of specialization as well as building new areas of expertise.

Cloud Systems Engineering Lead:

Mentors internal staff and customers in areas of expertise.

Responsible for quality assurance metrics both internally and externally across their entire team.

Provide technical leadership in the installation, configuration and implementation of customer cloud solutions to company standards. Create customer and internal procedures for IT installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Effectively consults with customers and internal staff on IT strategy, technology solutions, and improvements to their IT infrastructure using the company's solutions.

Create presentations and effectively present solution proposals to technical and executive audiences as required.

Uphold documentation standards and maintain customer documentation.

Visit vendors, attend conferences or training, and study technical journals to keep up with changes in technology and advance vendor relationships.

Provide technical support for customers and internal IT and perform occasional on-call duties for customer and internal issue escalation.

Qualifications.

  • 5+ years of complex cloud data center systems management and administration (4 of these years to include managing andor maintaining environments which leverage virtualization technologies).
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Ability to communicate in both French and English languages.

Other Qualifications:-

4+ years of data center deployment experience, specifically around HPE Servers, Dell Servers, SuperMicro Servers, Cisco UCS, virtualization, storage, and networking technologies (specifically EMC, HPE, NetApp, VMware, and Cisco) or combination.

Experience building relationships with both customers and manufacturers

Manufacturer and industry based certifications a huge plus, or the ability to quickly attain said certifications.

Design and perform day-to-day administration of complex data center solutions, including some or all of the following technologies:

x86 based computer systems, including blade systems and rack mount style Servers (preferably Cisco UCS and HP Blade systems)

Server and application virtualization, specifically VMware but additional manufacturers strongly desired

Experience in deploying andor a high degree of experience in managing and maintaining storage arrays andor Storage Area Networks (preferably EMC, HPE, NetApp, Cisco MDS, and Brocade)

Data center networking products specifically Cisco Nexus Edge/Access products

Experience deploying and/or managing data center backup, recovery, and archival systems (preferably EMC Data Domain, EMC Avamar, HPE, Commvault, Veeam, and related technologies).

Experience working with multiple cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, other multi-tenant hosting solutions/vendors, etc.

Ability to effectively communicate technical problems and solutions to technical and non-technical people.

Ability to continually develop and strengthen relationships with colleagues and customers.

Demonstrated experience with solutions consulting or a strong desire to quickly become a valued consultant to internal and external customers

Strong desire not to conform to the status quo, meaning a strong desire to continually improve one's self as well as business and consulting processes.
