I am working with a globally recognised bank who are on the look out for a data analyst with data management experience.
Renewing their data management capabilities globally, this is an exciting project aimed towards a next generation digital banking platform.
This is an ambitious implementation based on state of the art technology. Good governance of this platform is crucial. Together with data owners and data stewards in the organisation, they ensure that data is defined, can be easily exchanged, the data quality is monitored, and the data lake is set up according to security and privacy standards. They provide the data to important users like Finance, Risk and Analytics.
Responsibilities
- With data stewards you determine the nature and scope of the delivery of new data types in the data lake.
- You determine the information needs of data users for the delivery of data from the data lake.
- You coordinate with stakeholders in the total data value chain from delivery of data from the source to delivery to data users.
- Together with stakeholders in the business (data stewards, data users) you determine the meaning of data by defining business terms.
- You prepare conceptual, logical and dimensional data models and you are a sparring partner for IT specialists for the translation of these models into physical data models.
- You establish the requirements for data quality, data privacy and other relevant aspects together with the business stakeholders.
- You record the models and data definitions in the data dictionary and you maintain them as part of meta-data management.
- You test established data models and you monitor their mutual consistency and quality.
- You perform functional tests on the data flow from delivery to delivery.
- You document your activities to ensure knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer.
- You guide and coach others in the field of data management, such as data stewards in the business domains, and you stimulate the organization to become "data minded". You facilitate workshops with data stewards, data users, analysts and engineers.
- You initiate improvements in the field of data management and you support the organization of data management and data governance processes in the organization.
Requirements
- Affinity with data.
- Experience with data analysis (SQL).
- Knowledge of and experience with data management, data modelling (dimensional) and data warehouse technology.
- Experience in drawing up and coordinating definitions for business terms.
- Knowledge of and experience in the financial sector.
- Conceptually and analytically strong.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, to be able to coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic personality, which brings fun and connection and has affinity with Agile working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel abroad regularly: Brussels and/or Bucharest.
- HBO/WO education completed.
