Netbackup Consultant - NBU 8.1.2, Appliances, Architecture, Migration Troubleshooting

My customer requires a strong Netbackup Consultant with strong experience with NBU, NBU Appliances, Architecture and Migration experience along with strong NBU Troubleshooting experience.

Customer Environment:

  • 4 sites, approx. 2BP of backup data.
  • Biggest NBU appliances install base in the emerging region.
  • Environment includes NBU 5240's & NBU 5340 HA, InfoScale and access 3340's appliances.
  • NBU 8.1.2

Role Responsibilities:

NetBackup Optimize Operations:

  • Advise and contribute to the technical projects.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of relevant upgrades, deployments, patches or disaster recovery
  • testing.
  • Perform configuration and environment reviews.
  • Assist with production planning to minimize risk to the operating environment and the applicable Veritas
  • software products (Veritas NetBackup Family).
  • Assist with planning and support of evaluations for new features and functionalities within the applicable
  • Veritas software Products (Veritas NetBackup Family).

Stabilise Veritas NetBackup Infrastructure:

  • Diagnose technical issues encountered with the applicable Veritas software/Hardware products (Veritas
  • NetBackup Family)
  • Monitor and manage escalated issues and serve as the single technical point of contact.
  • Assist in the identification of processes to help the Customer ensure that the applicable Veritas software
  • products (Veritas NetBackup Family) installed, or to be installed, are compatible with the environment.
  • Provide informal knowledge transfer to the Customer's staff who covers the management and maintenance
  • of the applicable Veritas software products (Veritas NetBackup Family)

Expedited Response:

  • Provide advice on issues regarding upgrades, patches and impact alerts for the applicable Veritas software
  • products (Veritas NetBackup Family).
  • Provide response or clarification for applicable support-related questions in the course of daily operations.
  • Coordinate with Veritas technical support to resolve product issue escalations to ensure faster resolution
  • and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Assistance in troubleshooting and providing technical details for probable cause analysis of break/fix issues encountered.
