UI Developer
Whitehall Resources are looking for a UI Developer based in Dublin for a 6-month period.
Job Purpose:
As the data analytics global centre of excellence, Data Insights aims to support all functions within the Bank. The team provides tools, expertise and services that enables people to gain value from data. They work in partnership with stakeholders to improve the bank's Efficiency, Stability and Future Bank capabilities.
The Data Insights portfolio contains several large programmes of work, focused on applying data analytics tools and techniques to solve for business and data problems and to identify data issues and remediation solutions or optimizations as part of our strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing data-oriented applications in the Chief Digital Innovation Office (CDIO) DataLab function
- Gathering, documenting, examining/managing data application requirements in an Agile/Scrum development team
- Collaborating with UX/UI Designers to develop prototypes into functional applications
- Delivering high quality solutions through innovative design aligned with good development practices
- Writing tested, idiomatic, and documented Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Supporting the software development for a range of CDIO initiatives
- Cooperating with the Back End developer in the process of building the RESTful Application Programme Interface
- Communicating with external web services
- Developing a wide range of Enterprise application architectures, including n-tier, mobile and modern Single-Page-Application applications
Key Skills/Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and in-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
- Deep knowledge of AngularJS/React practices and commonly used modules, based on extensive work experience
- Experience collaborating with UI/UX Designers and delivering UI Designs from specification and visual prototypes would be preferable
- Experience of writing non-blocking code, and resorting to advanced techniques, such as multi-threading would be preferable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Validating user actions on the client side and providing responsive feedback
- Experience with building the infrastructure for serving the Front End app and assets would be preferable
- Goal-oriented structured thinking and effective organisational skills
- Experience with Test Driven Development and Agile software development methodologies would be preferable
- Applied knowledge of the core Java technologies and supporting components, including: programming (Core Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3), Web Frameworks (React, AngularJS, NodeJS,), Web Services (REST), Data Exchange (JSON, XML), Web Servers (Tomcat, Nginx), Source Code Management (Git), Build Tools (Maven) & Continuous Integration
- Experience of working with relational and NoSQL would be preferable
