Description
You will be part of a team which provides operational, engineering and technical support to the Royal Navy's surface fleet. You will help to achieve the maximum operating capability for the majority of the RN's surface fleet: vessels such as the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carriers, the Type 45 Destroyers, the Type 23 Frigates, the Hunt Class Minehunters and the Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessels. The Quality team is made up of engineering and quality management professionals, with both military and civilian backgrounds, who collaborate to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.
You would be required to liaise across the organisation to ensure that the business is operating safely, efficiently and effectively; thereby meeting our ambitions for time, cost and quality. You will have a good understanding of quality management and engineering. You will be capable of working independently in different areas of the business to provide support to project teams and key management functions.
You will be expected to have strong communication skills, with an ability to influence and mentor colleagues to ensure that the business remains compliant with Quality Management Systems. You will be capable of prioritising your work and will understand when to escalate issues as required. The Product Assurance Engineer will be required to undertake investigations as necessary, to identify the root causes of an issue and to recommend mitigating actions.
These roles will involve working in the one of the platform teams with additional engagement across the Navy's current and future platforms.
