Are you an experienced Procurement Manager able to provide specialist procurement leadership and expertise to enable our client to manage its spending with suppliers to achieve an advantageous commercial outcome in terms of value and risk? If so the this may be the role for you. Core-Asset Consulting's client is looking for a Procurement Manager to join them for an initial contract until March next year based in Edinburgh.

Core responsibilities:

  • Work across all global functions and be part of a team to apply appropriate strategic sourcing approaches and methodology with the functions.
  • Experience of value add items such as competency frameworks for procurement, training and development, stakeholder engagement for educational work around procurement, consolidation of processes, systems and tools, e-procurements, governance frameworks etc would be an advantage.
  • Actively lead colleagues through all steps of the procurement and outsourcing processes, to ensure best value for money is achieved and risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Advise the businesses on efficient and effective procurement strategies and provide recommendations on how supply chain performance can be improved.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to establish commercially robust agreements.
  • Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of relevant supplier markets to enable identification and assessment of commercial opportunities

Core requirements:

  • Experience of Global/Regional/Local procurement including spend and contract analysis, supplier rationalisation and consolidation, demand management, and TSA Exit.
  • Membership of UK and Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply preferable
  • Procurement expertise across multiple categories and a high level negotiation proficiency
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex legal agreements
  • High level of experience of supporting complex global change projects and their senior sponsors.
  • Experienced in managing major projects with a strong track record of achieving the project goals, ideally within a financial services environment.
