JOB TITLE: Test Manager
The Test Manager is the overall coordinator of the test effort. The role is responsible for managing the test team, for planning and controlling the test effort, and for evaluating and reporting the test result. The Test Manager is also the main contact for coordinating the test effort with other stakeholders.
ASSIGNMENT
Estimate effort for the test activities and secure test resources
Manage the Test Team, lead, plan and follow up all test efforts
Report the test progress and the test result to the stakeholders
Responsible for securing that the common test process is used. Ex:
-Staffing
-Test Plan
-Test Case
-Defect Reports
-Evaluation
Promote testability focus in the development process and initiate improvements to the process.
Asses the test progress compared to plans and determine general control mechanisms such as reviews
Propose Automation testing strategy using tool like Selenium
Performance Testing based knowledge and associated tool like load runner understanding is essential
Promote the resolution of defects that are essential for the test effort’s progress
Act as the main contact for coordinating test efforts with other systems/projects The goal is deliver IT services with high quality in a cost-conscious way.
