Technical requirements:
- Technical understanding of IT products for every layer in the stack. Knowledge of most commercial and open source alternatives for the following layers:
- Application frameworks and accelerators (custom vs. packaged);
- Application Servers (eg Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, JBoss,);
- Middleware and queuing solutions
- Database & storage technologies and platforms (eg Oracle, NoSQL,);
- Virtualization technologies (eg VMware);
- Operating systems (RHEL, Unix, MS Windows)
- Physical Infrastructure (eg racks, blades, network,);
- Technical understanding of the characteristics of application styles and when to apply each:
- Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms;
- Batch-driven applications;
- Web applications;
- Rich client, thin server applications;
- Technical understanding of current and upcoming IT trends and how to apply them;
- Working experience in pre-sales function to define infrastructure solutions;
- Technical understanding of technology areas specific to the company:
- Biometric matching and resolution platforms;
- Technical understanding of different aspects of architecture: application, runtime, infrastructure, operations and development architecture and how these need to be applied to meet challenging non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, availability) of a business critical system with a global users base.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in ICT with at least 2 years of experience infrastructure architect.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- ability to form strong relationships within a Matrix organization;
- Must be details oriented, analytical, and demonstrate ability to work in ambiguous environment;
- Must be self-directed with proven ability to make decisions supported by thorough data analysis;
Activities:
You will be working within the infrastructure team
- Develops infrastructure architecture in line with defined company' strategy;
- Defines, assesses and coordinates architecture projects and designs architecture building blocks;
- Participates in the meetings to define new projects and provides the design of the infrastructure architecture, the detailed Bill of Material to be part of the project and estimates the services for the implementation and delivery of the infrastructure architecture;
- Designs and coordinates architecture implementations;
- Provides advice on architecture frameworks and methods;
- Coordinates the technical implementation;
- Maintains the infrastructure related documentation by ensuring that all the projects proposed architectural changes are reflected in the documents
