Lab Security Engineer

3-12 Months Contract

Portugal-Lisbon

A great opportunity for a skilled Lab Security Engineer with a drive to increase their skill sets, learn new things and face challenges head on. The job will require excellent team-working skills when working alongside other Engineers when using high-spec technology in challenging projects. On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to help the company achieve their vision to develop and progress within great opportunities. You will get exposure to the latest tech and have the chance to work on some amazing projects.

Responsible for managing and coordinating Service lab environment infrastructure locally and remotely. Follow uniform process, operational rules and increasing utilization through innovation. Participation in the laboratory maintenance tasks and activities. Provide daily operations for lab infrastructure (IP Core and access, lab security - Firewall, Lab Remote Access)

Main Responsibility Area

  • Plan and executes technical tasks according to given tasks, along with existing processes and instructions. Works with the responsibility of responding to customer problems directly or through internal customer interface.
  • Responsibility for configuration and maintenance of infrastructure Routers and Switches inside Service Lab.
  • Responsibility for daily operations in security area (FW policy rule base configuration - maintaining efficient and up-to-date FW rulebase as per Service Lab needs)
  • Responsibility for managing remote access to Service Lab
  • Responsible for laboratory Hardware dimensioning (monitoring current network usage and weak points, indicating needs for changes)
  • Solves technical problems in IP/security area.
  • HW fault management in scope area.
  • Responsible for laboratory configuration backup in scope area.
  • Work closely with technical teams assigned to perform laboratory activities
  • Ensures customer satisfaction regarding ongoing support and maintenance of the Service Lab
  • Provides feedback to Lead Service Lab engineer on issues related to customer requirements and needs
  • Co-operation with Competence Streams

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering or similar
  • Experience with Cisco IOS configuration, hardware and software upgrades
  • Proficiency in switching and routing configuration (CCNA CCNP level ) - especially VLANS, spanning tree, static routing, OSPF, access lists - able to independently configure and troubleshoot Cisco IOS Devices
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols and topics (sctp, DNS, ftp, smb, ntp, NAT)
  • Working knowledge of network sniffing and analyzer tools (ping, traceroute, tcpdump, pcap, wireshark)

Additional technical skills highly appreciated (not a must at start)

  • Checkpoint Firewalls (gaia/secureplatform) policies configuration
  • Other vendors Routers/Switches (Juniper, HP)
  • General knowledge of mobile network architecture (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/IMS)
  • Linux - advanced user level (RHCSA or above), services administrator (DNS, FTP, Samba, NTP, NFS)
  • Virtualisation (general knowledge of VMware and/or OpenStack)
  • Windows - administrator level (group policies, windows FW configuration, windows antivirus protection)
  • Certifications (CCNA/CCNP and other vendors equivalent, VCP, RHCSA, RHCE)
