Title: Data Warehouse Maintenance Developer

Duration: 6 months

Years of experience: 8

Required Experience:

  • Strong experience with maintenance production support
  • Need strong SSIS and ETL skills
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Will be working in a data warehouse environment and need strong data analysis skills
  • They will be fixing, enhancing existing code
  • Will deal with ticket incident issues
  • Do not need to have banking experience but is a nice to have

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Position functions as a key contributor inside the Data Management Team to maintain production ETL solutions for the client's data warehouse and related environments
  • Maintain ETL solutions with the SQL Server product and services
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of information in databases through data manipulation
  • Perform data audits to uncover data integrity issues and/or opportunities for process improvement
  • Analyze large data sets to produce actionable information and recommendations across various business functions
  • Look for opportunities to improve efficiency, drive process changes, and support them with system changes
  • Ensure adherence to published development standards and database best practices, resulting in consistent and efficient implementation of production maintenance
  • Create detailed technical specifications and release documentation for assigned ETL maintenance
  • Ensure data integrity, performance quality, and resolution of data load failures
  • Multi-task across several ongoing projects and daily duties of varying priorities as required
  • Ability to make good judgments, decisions, negotiate and problem solve

Qualifications:

  • 4-8+ years of experience as ETL/BI developer working directly with large scale data warehouses required
  • Good experience with SQL Server 2008R, including T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and SQL Agent required
  • Working knowledge and ability developing against both relational (OLTP) and dimensional (OLAP) data models required
  • Working knowledge of extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes in a data warehousing environment required
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or MIS related area preferred
  • Good discipline in full life cycle development required
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tools and technologies required
  • Experience with TFS or similar source control and work tracking systems desired
  • Banking and/or financial services experience desired
  • Knowledge of different software development methodologies desired (eg Agile, Waterfall)
  • Detailed-oriented with a proven history as a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Outstanding organizational and effective time management skills
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
