THE ROLE REGULATORY REPORTING ANALYST

LOCATION CHESTER

DURATION 6 months

THE ROLE

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Reporting Analyst to be based in Chester to join an Investment Banking client as an Employed Consultant for an initial 6 months, with the potential to extend beyond this point. This is an ideal role for a highly motivated graduate/junior analyst who is hungry, keen to learn and looking for an opportunity to join a major Investment Banking.

My client is seeking a Regulatory Reporting Analyst to work on Volcker Metrics analysis for regulatory reporting and approximate trade reporting across multiple lines of business, giving wide cross business and product exposure. This role is focusing on Volcker Metrics, Overhedge and Approximation reporting across numerous Lines of Business (LOB's) within Fixed Income Currencies & Commodities (FICC).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The preparation and delivery of monthly Volcker, Approximation and Overhedge metrics, including working on enhancements to the current process and controls
  • Reconciliation and review of the relevant Volcker Metrics across a number of global businesses within FICC
  • Working with Front Office (FO), Technology, Data Management, Regulatory, Initiatives and Trade Assistants (TA's) to communicate issues and implement enhancements
  • Working with senior contacts across FO, Finance and Market Risk to ensure compliance with GBAM wide and LOB specific guidelines relating to Overhedge and Approximation reporting
  • Work on a range of initiatives (both those specifically impacting the functions above and other projects impacting the wider Trade Control team) such as system migrations, process automation and improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge in Trade Control/Reconciling Data/Data and System Flows
  • Knowledge of financial products (Interest Rate, FX, Credit)
  • Strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills
  • Mathematical or financial qualification preferred
  • MS Office - especially Excel; Booking and Reporting system knowledge (eg Orca/VMaster/Vienna/Pioneer/Bloomberg/SLATE)
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within organisation
  • Ability to quickly understand and interpret principles/new ideas.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload whilst working accurately under pressure
  • The application and understanding of a strong control framework
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast paced environment

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Understanding of the Volcker Rule is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Automation in relation to Data Analytics
  • Knowledge of Alteryx or equivalent data science and analytics software
