Events Specialist

The Events Assistant required by our leading international air transport organisation as a member of the Events Team within their Corporate & Digital Communications function. We are looking for a talented and dynamic team-player who is focussed on delivering successful corporate events.

This role involves managing the implementation of an event marketing plan that drives achievement of the business revenue and growth objectives. You'll need to be a well organised event professional who is motivated and enthusiastic with initiative and the willingness to learn. The role offers opportunities to take responsibility for and be involved in a range of events. You'll also get the opportunity to build your skills and collaborate with a highly skilled international team from across a variety of professions eg Brand, HR, Legal, Online marketing, Portfolio and GEO marketing, Sales, strategy etc as well as project managing your own events and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
As Events assistant you will be responsible for planning and executing a range of internal and external events such as industry trade shows and the client's own kick-off meeting, as well as Customer Forums. The role reports in to the Head of Corporate Events.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist with Project managing events, manage relationships with event partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers, agencies and venues to ensure that the event is delivered on time, on budget, on brand and on plan.
  • Manage deliverables which may include logistics, production, entertainment, hospitality, presentation content, stand design and build, staffing, product demonstrations and communications.
  • Plan, manage and accurately forecast the event budget.
  • After each event, ensure that ROI is evaluated against objectives and appropriate feedback is given to all stakeholders, and learning points are captured for future reference.
  • Report to the Head of Corporate Events with regular updates on event project planning, budgets and content development.

Role Requirements

  • A degree-level professional qualification relevant to events, marketing, business, communications etc.
  • At least 5 years' experience and a proven track record in event management within a B2B environment.
  • Organised with the ability to multi-task to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong event planning and project management skills with the ability to manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the business.
  • IT/technology/telecoms specific industry experience.
  • Experience working in a global/multi-cultural corporate environment - self-initiating with the ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
  • Resilient with the ability to work under pressure and adapt easily to any requirements with a solutions-led mindset.
  • Organized, dependable, dedicated and detail-oriented team player.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to deal directly with customers/clients.
