Netbackup Consultant - NBU 7+, Unix Administration/Scripting, Automation
My customer requires a NBU consultant who has strong Unix administration and Scripting skills, any automation experience would be a significant bonus
They are currently going through a NetBackup migration from 7.7.3 to 8.1.2 and require the consultant to assist them with the NetBackup design, operation and remediation of projects
Additional responsibilities include:
- Provide support and guidance for NetBackup related issues.
- A strong grasp of NBU CLI knowledge is essential
- Support Production and maintenance of design documents for backup environments
- Support for reviewing/producing operational processes and documentation
- Build/maintain Master and Media Servers as required by the customer
- Be able to work under own management to drive successful completion of tasks and projects
- To be able to work as part of a team but also lead a team when applicable
- Act as a SME on NBU
- Help to remove and upgrade obsolete hardware within the backup infrastructure, provide support and automation on backup tools and services
- Support for internal NetBackup certification or engineering tasks
- Support for planning and execution of roll-out of NetBackup tools and applications
- Carry our MSDPool checks and take remedial action
